It is a 3 hour informal class, where you become empowered and confident to breastfeed your baby, when they are born. Even though, breastfeeding is natural, it is a learned skill. By learning these skills, you will be a lot more confident and competent in breastfeeding your baby.
It is powerpoint led presentation with slides and video's. There is a little chatting from me. There is a practical session where I help you with some dolls and breastfeeding cushions to imagine what it feels like to get baby into a good breastfeeding position.
We discuss reasons and benefits to breastfeed your baby, latching your baby, breastfeeding positions, what to expect in the first 40 days and especially after birth, how to know when your baby is hungry, how to know your baby is getting enough milk and lots and lots of other practical tips and information to help you get off to a great start and recognise and avoid some of the common speed bumps.
Partners/Dads to be are most welcome (and encouraged to come) at no extra cost. Most Health Insurance companies will reimburse for a Breastfeeding Class. Check with your provider Fee for the class is E75. Fee Includes my 36 page booklet for you to take away
