I have years of experience working with breastfeeding mums, their partners and their babies in my role as a Lactation Consultant & as a Nurse in the GP Practice - Cork City Medical Centre.
After having my first baby and having a great start to breastfeeding, I really believed every Mum and baby should experience this. Working in a GP practice, I met many new Mums, Dads and their babies. My knowledge in breastfeeding at the time was limited and I could only rely on my own experience. I then decided I would like to gain more knowledge in this area and I went on to train as an IBCLC.
I qualified and set up my own private practice in 2016. Since 2016, I have met 100's of couples along their breastfeeding journey.
They have taken my class or I have met them at a breastfeeding consultation.
My passion is helping new mums, partners and their babies to breastfeed successfully. By empowering the mum and dad before baby arrives, this gives great confidence to them and can often lead to a successful breastfeeding journey. If they have taken my class and run into breastfeeding problems, they are a lot more confident and notice the problems at an early stage and these can then be rectified early on. My classes are practical and all of your questions answered and you will learn everything you need to know to have a successful breastfeeding journey.
I believe there is a solution to most problems and I will do my very best to find out why there may be breastfeeding problems. Working with the mum and baby, we will draw up a plan together to help solve the problem and get breastfeeding back on track and to help Mum and baby reach their own breastfeeding goals.
Support in these early weeks is crucial to a good breastfeeding journey and I believe every mum and baby deserves this.
I also support you along your breastfeeding journey. I am very passionate abut help in all stages of breastfeeding.
This can include returning to work and how to navigate breastfeeding.
It may include how to pump and offer bottles to your baby or what f your baby refuses a bottle.
And there will be many other milestones along the way including introducing solids and sometimes it can be as hard to stop breastfeeding as it it to start and I also support with combination feeding and stopping breastfeeding.
I really want you to have a successful breastfeeding journey and i hope I can help you along your journey in whatever way I can, be it on my Introduction to breastfeeding Classes or as a Lactation Consultation.
I look forward to meeting you along your breastfeeding journey & guiding you along the way
