Introduction to Breastfeeding Classes
This is a 3 and 1/2 hour class that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. You will receive my 40 page book. This will have everything in it that you will need to know to navigate the early days and weeks.
It is a class, where you become empowered and confident to breastfeed your baby, when they are born. Even though, breastfeeding is natural, it is a learned skill. By learning these skills, you will become a lot more confident and competent in breastfeeding your baby.
There is lots of information giving, where I share all my knowledge along with picture's and video's. There is a practical session where I show you with dolls and breastfeeding cushions to imagine what it feels like to get baby into a good breastfeeding position.
We discuss
reasons and benefits to breastfeed your baby,
latching your baby,
breastfeeding positions,
what to expect in the first 40 days and especially after birth,
how to know when your baby is hungry,
how to know your baby is getting enough milk
how to avoid sore nipples, mastitis, pain & what to do if faced with breastfeeding problems
and lots and lots of other practical tips and information to help you get off to a great start and recognise and avoid some of the common speed bumps.
Partners/Dads to be are most welcome (and encouraged to watch) at no extra cost.
When should you attend the Class? I usually recommend from 30 weeks onwards. At this stage, you are starting to prepare for baby's arrival and it is a good time to take in this information. You can attend at anytime though, as I know some Mums like to be prepared early on in the pregnancy.
Cost of the Class The cost of the 3 and 1/2 hour class is €70 and your partner can watch with you in the comfort of your own home. Receipts are emailed to you the week of the class & are reimbursable from many Health Insurance Companies.
Cancellation Policy Cancellation of the class is allowed 72 hrs before class. A refund (minus €2 handling fee will be refunded) If the Class is cancelled after this ( a charge of €12 will be deducted from full amount - this allows for handling fee & postage )
My Book I will post out my book to you the week of the class. If you sign up the day before, I will post the book out next posting day. (Note: if you sign up for Februarys class on 9th/10th February, I will email you a scanned copy of my book & a print copy approximately 2 weeks later) (Please be sure to write in your full address on the booking form)
Other Notes The Class is via Zoom. You will receive the link when you book. The best devices to watch the Online Class are on a tablet, laptop or screen. This is a LIVE class and is recorded. You all will receive the recording & watch back in your own time up to 2 weeks after from anywhere in the world. Your screen is off so, it is very relaxed and private. You can interact with me and ask any questions whenever you want during the LIVE class via the Q&A tab or Chat tab.
Really looking forward to you joining me on this Introduction to Breastfeeding Class
